I love staying at the Swissotel, you can see from my records, i've been staying there for the last 6 years when i come to shanghai. I recently become an All Accor member because of this. I was welcomed and acknowledged as a Accors member which was nice. However, no offer of an upgrade, which i understand cannot happen everytime. But what i was disappointed with, location of the room, i was put in a room which looked over the plant room of the hotel. As someone who has stayed at the swiss, more than 30+ times over a 5 year period, this is a little disappointing and not sure the customer service i know the Swissotel can deliver to.

Fantasy location. Nice facilities. Spacious rooms. Housekeeping staff are great. But don't expect top tier service quality at checkin, at the lounge, or at breakfast. One exec lounge staff member, who wears glasses, in particular does not greet guests, does not clear used plates away, does not help in any way. I even overheard her gossiping about guests in chinese to her colleague. They basically stand around swiping their phones.

Exceptional Stay in the Heart of Shanghai!

I had a fantastic stay at Swissôtel Grand Shanghai. The location is super convenient—right in Jing’an and close to the metro. The room was spotless, quiet, and very comfortable, with great city views. Staff were friendly, efficient, and always ready to help. The breakfast buffet was also top-notch! I’ll definitely be staying here again on my next trip. Highly recommended for both business and leisure travelers!
